Jean-François HUC

President

Jean-François HUC was most recently the Chief Operating Officer of Diversified Natural Products, where he created the healthcare business, secured the products through acquisition and licensing, established the IP portfolio, managed the preclinical and clinical development efforts, implemented good manufacturing practices, put in place a quality assurance program, developed regulatory and commercial strategies for the products and negotiated distribution and licensing agreements with third parties. As COO, he also oversaw the restructuring of DNP’s succinic acid division, established the Bioamber JV with ARD and managed the spin-off of the succinic acid business. Mr. HUC subsequently relinquished his role as COO of DNP to become President of the spin-off, DNP Green Technology.
Prior to DNP Mr. HUC was CEO of TGN Biotech, a company producing recombinant proteins in transgenic animals. Before TGN, he was the founder and CEO of MedExact, a startup offering web-based promotional services to pharmaceutical companies in the US and France. Mr. HUC was formerly the Vice President of Alliance Management at Sanofi-Synthelabo in Paris, managing the company’s strategic alliances. Prior to Sanofi, he was a Partner at Arthur D. Little, a management consulting firm, and the Director of its French healthcare practice. He has an M.B.A. from York University in Toronto and an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry.

Roger Laurent BERNIER, Ph.D., P.Ag.

Vice President R&D, Intellectual Property and Licensing

Until the recent spin-off of DNP Green Technology from Diversified Natural Products, Laurent BERNIER was Vice President R&D working on the restructuring of DNP’s succinic acid division more particularly on the management of its IP portfolio and various scientific and business partnerships. Prior to joining Diversified Natural Products, Mr. BERNIER was Vice President Eastern Canada for Foragen Technology Management Inc., a venture capital fund created to help commercialize early-stage, advanced agricultural technologies from Canadian sources. Before Foragen, he was the founding Executive Director of BioAtlantech, New-Brunswick’s lead agency for the development of the bio-industries and had been previously Vice President Life Sciences for Inno-centre, a Montreal-based organization dedicated to helping advanced technology entrepreneurs start up commercial ventures. As an industrial researcher, Laurent BERNIER has held various research and managerial positions within ICI Canada and Zeneca BioProducts, where he directly contributed to the discovery, development and launch of five biotechnology-related products and services. He is the primary inventor of six biotechnology related patents and has published extensively in the area of agricultural and forestry biotechnology. Mr. Bernier has held various adjunct professorships and has been a guest lecturer at several Canadian universities. He received his Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from the University of Montreal. He was the recipient of an INSERC industrial post-doctoral fellowship conducted at FPInnnovations (formerly the Pulp and Paper Research Institute of Canada or PAPRICAN) in collaboration with McGill University in Montreal.

Dilum DUNUWILA, Ph.D.

Vice President, Business Development

Dilum DUNUWILA has been directly involved in the development of succinic acid technologies and is the co-inventor of numerous succinic acid technologies including the formulations, applications, and separations that form part of DNP’s technology platform. He has served as the Principal Investigator on several SBIR grants from USDOE, USDA, USEPA, and the US Navy. Dilum DUNUWILA received his Ph.D. and M.S. from Michigan State University in chemical engineering and his B.S. degree from Michigan State University in chemistry.

  • Mr. Jerry Fischoff, MS ChE, is Director of Planning at Zebulon Industries, with experience in Corporate Planning, Business Development, M&A and line management.
  • Mr. Roy Meadows, BS, ChE, MS ChE, ex-Union Carbide, has years of experience in technology licensing and plant management.
  • Mr. Tom Meyer, BA, MA, is also a former Senior Executive with more than 34 years experience at Union Carbide and strong experience in line and functional management in chemicals and plastics.
