DNP Green Technology is a stand-alone business devoted to commercialization of technologies related to manufacturing of biologically-derived succinic acid and its derivatives.
Our vision
Our vision is to be the first to market processes for making bio-derived succinic acid and its derivatives that offer cost effectiveness relative to petrochemical processes. Furthermore, our fermentation technology can utilize multiple feedstocks, including non-food biomass, as a source of carbon.
Our business model
Our business model is to commercialize proprietary, cost-effective and robust processes through turn-key licenses rather than building and operating commercial plants. As a result, DNP Green Technology is clearly positioned to partner, rather than compete, with the players of the chemical industry. The company is also looking at developing new platform molecules beyond succinic acid, capitalizing on its technical and business expertise.
Our history
Founded as Applied CarboChemicals (ACC) in 1995, the company was formed to exploit the potential of bioprocessing for production of chemicals and polymers. The goal of the company was to develop and commercialize a technology portfolio that combined fermentation with chemical synthesis. The technology portfolio originated from the U.S. Department of Energy and Michigan State University. In 2003, ACC changed management and was renamed Diversified Natural Products (DNP). During 2007, a worldwide joint-venture was established with a French agricultural consortium via their R&D subsidiary named Agro Researches Developments (ARD) to scale up and commercialize succinic acid derived technologies. Earlier this year, the Succinic Acid division was spun out from Diversified Natural Products and was renamed DNP Green Technology.
